Got a hole in your vinyl siding and want to patch it quickly. That said the hole is the least of your effort. Squirt a generous dollop of exterior caulking that matches the color of the siding into the hole. When we cut with a circular saw we often install the blade backwards to minimize ripping and tearing of the vinyl.

Cover the hole from the back side with foil tape then put the siding back where it belongs. You need to be sure the weather stripping and siding itself is properly done to keep the siding water tight. Clean the siding around the hole with vinyl siding cleaner or dish detergent and water then dry the siding. A hole saw tin snips etc will slice right through it.

There are several ways to repair damaged vinyl siding depending on the extent of the damage. Holes an inch or two across or long narrow holes that still appear patchable require removing the damaged piece of vinyl to fix it. Allow it to completely dry then use a razor scraper to cut the excess caulk flush with the outside of the siding.
